Impressions on the 11th ICBE Conference

11th Igorot Cordillera BIMAAK-Europe (ICBE) Conference

The 11th ICBE Conference held here in Amsterdam was indeed a success. Organizing and communicating with our province mates from different parts of Europe was quite a humongous task. From the invitation, accommodation, food, venue, inviting guest speakers, and parts of the program and managing a tour and after dinner for the so-called “Isistorya” and the holding of raffle tickets and holding a cultural workshop to having a cultural night.

Anyways, I was so happy that through this event, I got reconnected with old friends and relatives as well as met new ones too, and most of all made good memories.

As we know, in any event that was organized, we always (locally based only) have some problems that we cannot avoid, but all these were tackled professionally and calmly.

To top it all, the 11th ICBE Conference has shown the strength of the MABIKAs Board and Constituents to make this happen. Let us give each other a tap on the shoulders for a job well done, especially for those who worked so hard.

 Maybe one reason why “God gave us two hands: one hand to help one another and the other palm to hold each other's hand and be proud of our identity as Igorots.”

Moreover, kudos to Manang Yvonne, the driving force behind it all…And to the Mabikasanians, are we ready for another hosting soon?
